Ten Feet Tall | In 1946 my dad decided we needed a Ford 9 N tractor after seeing one pull a combine he had hired to cut some wheat for us. The day finally came and I got to drive it home 18 miles. I was 11 years old. I remember the event like it happened yesterday. I was almost bursting with pride. The little Ford is still on the farm doing it's chores as it always has. It's first job was to dig the basement for our new farm house. We had a rear mounted scoop and my Mother would about have a stroke seeing me come up out of the basement with front wheels in the air. I very seriously doubt I would let my kids or my grandkids do that now. My plans are to compleatly rebuild the 9 N after I quit farming. Shouldn't be too hard as it is in very good shape yet.
