A while ago I posted picture of my #7 TO30, came with a Wagner loader. This was supposed to be a running tractor when put away and it did not take much to run again. So the loader has been taken off cleaned up and painted, no is the tractors turn. But, since getting it going has had an odd noise coming from the engine. Starting at the top with the valve train I immediately noticed a lack of oil on top. Dropped down and took off the pan and was surprised at the amount of large metal pieces I found.
Apparently some work had been done below and the oil pick up tube was not attached properly with the little bolt and the whole thing looks like it went through a garbage disposal.
Lack of oil has caused worn bearings, leading to breaking off the lower cylinder sleeves on 3 and 4. So parts are on order and full engine tear down is beginning. Another spring project.
Added what the pickup tube should look like.
