This tractor is looking good, the only thing is the fenders are not the right ones, thehood looks like it is from a 901 [900 did not have stickers on them]

Though not possible to identify definitively from the photos, it appears to be a 56 or 57 960 or, possibly, 950, making the hood decals incorrect as well as the red nose cone and hood door. Aside from that and the difficult to find missing sway bars, it appears to be in good visual condition.

Most 9x0 tractors were built with narrow front assemblies.

Perhaps, $3000 - $3500. Low end if the PS is missing or not functional.

First off is it a 900 or a 901?? Two different series of tractor and the 900 was made from 1955 to 1957 and the 901 from 1958 to 1962. Most common way to find a 900/901 was with the trike front end since they where Fords version of a row crop tractor. Also depending on the tranny it has that makes a bit of a difference in what it is worth. That one looks like it is either a 4 or 5 speed model. Find the model number of it and that as I said tells a bit more of what it could be worth. Model number is on a flat spot pretty much under the battery. It could be a 940/941, 950/951, 960/961 and the one with the most value is the 960/961 because of the live PTO

As others have said, color scheme and fenders are incorrect for 960, but 5 speed is good, tires look very good which is probably $500 above average. Look at the rod for the power steering cylinder for wear on the underside at mid point. If the chrome is worn off plan on about $300 for the repair. Check the rims around the valve stems for bad rust. They all have some but if it looks rusted through you will spend some $ on welding. Lift arms are at half way height which can indicate a leaking cylinder seal. This isn't real bad unless it drops fairly fast and bounces while running.I have three of these. They are a pleasure to work with.

As quoted from item description:
"960? Serial # 7052(4) or (a). Starts & runs nice."

Not quite alot of info for these guys to help you with. Try contacting seller and ask for pics of casting numbers maybe? Then many can give better idea of true value. Was a phone number also to contact with further questions also provided by seller.

In addition to what others have said about the tractor being a 900 and not a 901- the rear fenders are neither 900 nor 901 fenders. The correct fenders would be notched where they attach to the axle and the fender skin would actually extend down below the top of the axle on both the front and rear. The 8N was the last Ford tractor that had the horizontal rib in the fender.
Also- the steering rod should be on top of the cylinder, not below it.
I wouldn't pay more than $2500 for it.

Sinced I owned a 1955 960 for 40 years I would like to put in my two cents worth
It appears to be a 1955 or early 56 model. a 5 speed but seeing the numbers with the SN would determan weather it has live PTO. The fenders appear to be from a 9N. The manifold is a fits all( they do work tho) with the later bigger muffler and exhaust pipe. The Rest-o-ride seat is in nead of major repair. It appears to have the right hood, but painted wrong and wrong decals. Nothing rare about the narrow front. Unable to see on the right side maybe it doesn't even have PS.If you are looking for something close to orginal, there is pleanty of work. $2500 is about top, given what is shown

It's got shiny paint, but everything is jumbled up from one series to the other cross-pieced & mis-painted, so certainly there is no collector value, wrong paint & wrong parts hurt that.

If it runs good it's a nice 45 hp tractor, worth more if it is a x6x model and if it has power steering, less if it is a x5x model or lacks power steering. You're kinda showing off the shiny paint, and not supplying the worthwhile info, so I'd just kinda skip on by if it were me looking; but I look for a good solid tractor with good options, others might be looking for other things....

Figure $2500 or less, as the others say.

The 9x0 models all came as narrow front I think, or did the last year add wide front option? So certainly most came as narrow front. My 960 has a Shwartz wide front.

I assume about power steering rod you were referring to my post. I guess I didn't word it clearly enough. I am referring to the underside of the rod of the PS cylinder where the little film of oil collects dust, which makes the seal leak, which means more oil to collect dust, which the seal drags back and forth on the rod surface, wearing the chrome off. It's pretty common. Comes up here now and then. Two of mine had it. You must have seen it.

No, I was referring to a photo in the Fleabay listing of the right side of the tractor that farmallray did not include in his post. In that photo the steering rod is mounted upside down. Here's a link to the auction so you can see that photo.

Sharp eyes! Yes it looks like the hoses are coming off the bottom of the control valve too.
