Did a fresh overhaul on Super 88 diesel due to oil consumption. Rebuilt with stock kit, head went to shop, crank went to shop for grinding and thrust rebuild. tractor seemed to have a weak sound while running before overhaul. After overhaul I have an engine that does not use oil, does not miss, starts very good but still has that weak running sound and then the dyno showed about 32 horsepower. Ive rebuilt several other olivers with good results but this one is a head scratcher. A friend of mine told me that he had an 880 years back that was weak on power and he found the hydraulic head of the bosch injection pump to be off one tooth and it robbed a lot of power, said he retimed the pump and it made a big difference. I am wondering if anyone else here has tackled this issue? thanks guys
