John Deere B oil pressure

I have a 1945 John Deere B and was wondering about the oil pressure. The glass in the old oil pressure gauge got cracked a number of years
ago. The gauge soon stopped working. I finally bought a new gauge and got it installed. The new gauge always showed low pressure. I bought
a test gauge that is 0 to 10 PSI. The test gauge shows 8 PSI at slow idle and 10+ PSI at full idle. I was fearing a major repair job but I
guess all is well.

John Deere service bulletin #203, May 53, states B oil pressure at full throttle should be 10 - 15 psi. I would say you are good.

I can't comment on the oil pressure but if you have a 45 B you have one of the toughest tractors ever built. I've seen them completely wore out and still go out and do an honest days work. We had a 36, a 42 and a 52.
