For you guys that have followed me in my progress on the F-12 restoration may remember that I've been away working in upstate NY. Providing for the family has taken priority over the hobby for a while!!
With that being said I have had some time on my short trips home to wrench on the 12 a bit. On my extended stay home over Thanksgiving I finally got everything brought home from the machince shop and stored away in the basement. I came home on Dec. 20th and had a goal of getting my engine back together. That may happen as of this evening...I found I'm missing the front engine plate and timing cover gaskets in my kit. I called up Gordon Rice and he's getting those shipped right out. I'm also frustrated with getting my governor back together!! At this point I'm tempted to ship all the parts for that to someone who has some experiance with them and can make it right for me...hint hint!! I'm confused in how to replace the spring. I broke the rock shaft getting it out. Things have just not gone well!!
I had to have the shaft that drives the gov turned down to clear the sleeves. For those of you who don't know I did some machine work to the block and fit a set of 3 1/4 sleeves from a Super C. I know most of you know what all these engine parts look like but I'll share what pictures I have taken so far of all my new shiny parts!!
