Here in mid-Michigan, seems like farmers are struggling to get it in. Lots of corn planted, and they"re going at the potatoes, full throttle. Not seeing much corn up yet. But lots to go. With the equipment they have, doesn"t take much time to plant a lotta acres. Going to plant my second planting of sweetcorn this afternoon, or tomorrow. Had a couple frosts last week. Got a bunch of my alfalfa. Looks like it"s coming back, but so"s the weeds. May have to cut hay early to prevent the weeds from taking over. Completely destroyed the buds and early leaves on a couple of my carpathian (English) walnuts. Squirrels probably going to be outta luck this fall. Just hope the trees come back. Keeping the buckets in the garden for now, in case we get anoither forst, to cover the tomatoes, other plants.
