Hi everyone! Apologies if this is a redundant question - for the life of me can't find a search feature for past forum posts (am I missing something?)
I have a 165 perkins diesel (AD4 203). Had it for three seasons now, and this spring noticed a very small weep coming from the bottom of the lift pump when it sits for a bit (seemingly somewhere near where the manual pumping lever connects, at the bottom of the pump itself. Does not appear to be at the diaphragm, as that has never had diesel visible on it). Won't see any flow after cleaning it or running it, but then after a day or two there's a film of diesel all the way down over the starter (below) and down the engine block. No visible drips, just a thin sheen.
I've never had to deal with a pump before (my other tractor is a 135 perkins gas), so I'm trying to determine:
A) The cause (probably hard to answer) B) Whether it's worth it to buy a repair kit and/or other parts to replace rings, gaskets, etc in the pump. C) Whether it's more economical / sensible to just buy a new lift pump (I see one on this site for ~$27?? Any recommendations or reviews from anyone of the one available here? https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/Massey-Ferguson-165_Fuel-Lift-Pump_3637286M91.html)
