If you are jumpering a safety switch there are two issues that need inspection from outside. The first is to determine if the switch shows any change in continuity (ohm meter) between the terminals when moving the lever. (disconnect the switch at least one terminal to do this). if no change, it is necessary to pull the switch and see if it works when removed by actuating its plunger or follower. If it works out of the mount, looking inside the hole or mount might shed light on what is happening. Look at the switch to see if the tip or follower has been bent or broken shorter. Jim
