Located about 40 miles north of us on M-66 in Osceola county. Was going by one day, and there were an older couple working around the farmstead, loading round bales into another barn. they showed us around (no puns intended>) the barn. Upstairs contained a grainery and hay storage. Said putting bales in it was a real "knee breaker." Inside was pretty open with no vertical posts inside. Downstairs was the stable, with cows facing in to the center, so all feeding was in the middle. Gutter, and track for manure cleanout trolley was circular around outer portion of the stable. The side picture with the "Welcome" sign cast in it was over a concrete watering trough. Said the origional owner got his wealth in the railroad industry, and when he retired to the farm, he had a round barn built, so he had his own roundhouse! Folks were real nice and friendly. We probably were not the first to stop and see thier barn. Course, it helped that wife and I are also farmers. Sent them some photos of our barn which has arched roof with hand laminated curved rafters. Lastr time I went by, the place looksed different, as though there were new owners, didn't stop and visit.
