I am looking at a 2390. Were these good tractors and did they have any common problems to watch out for.

Also what is the going rate for a 1983 mod with good duals, Loader, and everything is good working order.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Had 3 2390's at one time. Never had any powershift trouble, put a torque limiter in one at 2800 hrs. An 83 model probably already has the heavy torque limiter. Great engines and hydralics, good cab. Let tractor warm up in cold weather, cold oil is hard on the powershift. Check the sediment bowl on the tranfer pump, if it's dirty, the tractor probably hasn't had good care. Check controls for free movement.

not to start a argument but, you want an will love the power shift w/a loader they are tough if maintained properly ,they only have a 1000 pto, the 504 engine is practily indestructable an not to bad on fuel. not to bad mouth the 8 spd. never seen one in a 2390 have had a couple in the 20 an 2290 a little clumsy, not nearly as bad as the 70 series. but the high an low shift are prone to wear in the 90 series an are no longer avaible from case.

If its a power shift atch out!! If you can find it with an 8 speed manuel you better grab it ASAP!! I here the 8 speeds are virtually indestructable!!!!

I have looked for an 8 speed case and could never find one! I think that 502 turbo charged engine is SWEET!!!
