I assume that you have a factory installed 53 series Detroit Diesel powered Studebaker. Would you care to comment on your truck? I still have my '47 IH KB-5 w/4-53. I installed it several years before the fuel crisises in the '70s.

Yes it is. It`s a stub-nose E-45 with a 350 bushel grain box on it,serial no 906 [6th one built] 4-53 with a Clark 5-speed,2-speed rear. It`ll run 70 mph real easy. Only problem ,it will make you deaf!! 68,000 original miles.Sounds like you got a cool truck too !

I have the Clark 265 VO tranny as well. I love that close ratio four/five downshift.

The engine/tranny came out of a Chevy school bus. I changed the rear end to a electric shifted 2 speed with a lower numeric ratio for more speed. Don't think I ever got it to 70 mph though.

Ya, it is some noisy. I have been thinking about antique plates this year. It would make a good tractor hauler.
