Well i got my Hydraulic lines fixed on my loader yesterday. Thanks for all the advice. I decided to go with flexible lines instead of steel lines. It seems to work ok.

Since i had the loader off i decided to bleed the brakes out since they havent worked in over a year andi had some free time. When i went to bleed them out no fluid cam out into the hose i attached to the bleeder valve. My thoughts are that the screens going into the master cylinders could be clogged. Does anyone else have an idea why their would not be fluid going to the bleeder valve?

Thanks

James

Jim, this info is from the 574 service manual, you should get one - It says there are screens, one on top of the master cyl. on the "keep fill" line, and another under the hood above the battery on the brake orifice assembly. These may be plugged? There"s 15 pages on the brakes in there, and I type poorly. Real quick on bleeding - 1. run the tractor for a minute to insure brake lines are full. 2. clamp the brake reservoir inlet hose to prevent fluid from returning to the resevoir. 3. attach 1/4" hoses to the 2 bleeder fittings & route them to the oil fill plug. 4. Loosen the bleed screws until fluid is running free of air out the two tubes. 5. Latch the brake pedals and depress & raise slowly until fluid is free of air. Tighten one bleed screw & repeat until fluid is free of air. Allow pedals to return to raised position & tighten second bleed screw. Hope that helps.
