I posted in the general forum instead of the Farmall forum, apologies...I purchased a Saginaw 3 pt. hitch after reading everyones rave reviews on them. It's on its way as i'm writing this. As I said here before, I just purchased this M. It has one hydraulic line running from the right side of the motor, back to just behind the seat. On the left side, there are 2 elbows that appear to be for additional hydraulic lines. Does this sound like a correct setup? If I only want to lift (no down pressure) the one line will suffice and I just take a line from one ram to the other? If I want down pressure also, I'll need to run an additional line from the hydraulics at the two elbows? Pardon my ignorance, this is all new to me. Maybe when the hitch arrives there will be some instruction but the fellow on the phone at Saginaw was very helpful too. Thanks

Nope, all three elbows activate at roughly the same time. The M does not come with two-way hydraulics from the factory, only one-way.

To get down pressure, you either need a "christmas tree" valve, which is "correct" for an M, or a generic open-center spool valve that you can get from TSC.

A quick primer on plumbing 2-way hydraulics using a generic spool valve:
1. Mount the valve in a convenient location.
2. Run a hose from the left belly pump port to the IN on the valve.
3. Run a hose from the OUT port to the fill pipe on the belly pump. Seal the fill cap, or use a standard pipe plug to seal the system or hydraulic fluid will blow out everywhere!
4. Run two hoses from the work ports on the spool valve to the rear of your tractor.
5. Install quick-connects on the ends of the hoses so you can hook up different implements quickly and easily.

Thanks for spelling it out for me. My father-in-law has a C and said he would assist in the 'plumbing' we just weren't sure of specifics. It sounds like, from discussion on the general forum, I will have to go 2 way unless I change Rams... Thanks again

You can run line from any of the 3 outlets to cylinders and have one way hydraulics to have 2 way with downpressure gets a little more complicated as you will need to plumb in a new 2 way valve.
