I have a front end loader for my 300 utillity and my tractor has regular guide farm type tires on the front. Would I be better off with regular type tires for loader work? Anyone have experience with this? Thanks

A friend of mine used the 4 ribbed steering kind to spread the weight over the face of the tire..It also helps in steering when in the off road mode. My 2 cents

300Randy: I'd place my money on extra weight hung back off the rear while using a front loader. The rear weight will counter balance some if placed well behind the rear wheels. This adds traction and stability too and all for possible less $ than new front tires. I've seen a couple 55 gal drums hung off the back of a 3point that were filled with cement for lots of cheap counter balance weight. R.

Back when I was farming in NE Wisconsin , I had a loader on a Farmall H w/wide frnt. I bought wider rims and ran 4 rib ,8 ply tires . I traded that tractor off for a Farmall Super C w/narrow frnt. I bought a heavier ply tire and still have it today . I now use it to load logs for the lumber yard . As long as I am moving I can steer , when still , you will get an armstrong !

Don't think it makes a heck of a lot of difference, as long as the tires are rated for the load.

If ya don't have power steering, it's gonna be a pain either way.

Hi, Randy, F14, can't say about your specific situation, but have found on larger tractors that do a lot of loader work on hard ground, a tripple rib tire will eventualy crack internaly cuasing "tube pinching", frome the flexing of of the center rib which will carry all the weight. If you are not lifting and carrying large loads to a great extent, you should be all right. I did ruin the front tires on my satoh by using it to move lumber and logs around the mill, and square bales on a special fork to carry ten, [used the 'hoe as counterweight], that was quit a few years ago, now use the 806 and a fork lift for the same jobs! Have a gooder, R.E.L.
