I seen my dad free up a badly stuck boat motor one time by pouring Pepsi Cola down the cylinders and letting it soak for a few days, came right loose. Something about the acidity of the cola i guess, anybody ever tried this??? Sounds goofy i know, but it does work.

You didn't mention what type of Farmall..I wouldn't think a tractor would get stuck that hard in just a year and a half. Is it an A or B?, On those, sometimes the starter drive gets stuck in the forward position and you need to loosen the bolts enough for the starter to reposition itself. Wouldn't that be funny if after you break off the frontend, that it was just the starter?

Hi Bear,

You might try pulling the plugs, filling the cylinders with turpentine and letting it set a couple of days. Then try it again.

After it frees up, be sure and change the oil, as that turpentine will work its way down into the pan.

Did you have the exhaust covered while it was parked?

Hope this helps,

Allan

R Marg,

By accident.

I had an old AC Combine motor stuck one time; and I dooooo mean "stuck". Tried every trick in the book and nothing seemed to work.

Finally in desparation, since I had stumbled across an old gallon can of turpentine that has been setting around the shop for about 10 years, I shook it up and tried it, and the next morning, she came loose (fairly easily).

Surprised me too, 'cause I just never thought there was that much "horsepower" in turpentine.

If its that stuck and your pulling it you will bend the rods before it frees up. Try and get a bar in on the flywheel and pry it loose. Be sure to soak it with PB blaster first.
