Hello, Everyone!

I was curious if any of the 300 or 400 Farmalls came with the white grills and white "patches" on the hood sides. I've seen a few pictures of them with the white, but wasn't sure if it was owner-created or may have came like that.

Thanks,
RandyN

Randy, All of the 100,200, 300, 400, 600, came from the factopry with red grill inserts, and red side panels. When the next series came out with the white inserts and panels, a lot of owners of the 00 series thought that the white contrast was the greatest thing since canned beer and rain. After that it was common that a lot of 00's started popping up with white inserts and side panels. The dealers were glad to oblige if the owner had his tractor in for service to sell him the "paint upgrade" It didnt do anything for the tractor itself except make it look like that newer 450 that the neighbor just had delivered. YOu hit the nail on the head.....It was all owner created.

Randy: I never saw any of them with white grills and hood patches when these tractors were new. We had a new 300 at home, our dealer sold a lot of 100, 200, 300 and a few 400. I don't ever remember seeing white on any of them.

the hundred series never had white on them, but many owners painted them to look like a 50 series after the paint got bad. i know this for a fact as i have painted many 400's that were painted like a 450 and the owner never knew he had bought a 400. he thought it was a 450 cause of the paint and never thought to look at the tag.(I do not paint tractors that away if a guy wants his 400 which is painted like a 450 he gets it back lookin like a 400)

farmallkid: I was around when these were new, I know what you are saying. Now, I really could care less if someone wants to paint his Farmall red, white, blue or pink with purple dots. Remember the customer is paying for your paint job, and the customer is always right. You should learn to crap only if someone wants to change the identity of the tractor, either the serial tag or model decals. That my friend is fraud.

I doubt if farmallkid paints a red and white tractor all red without asking the customer first! If the customer doesn't agree it is his problem and not farmallkid's.
