We're socked in again in most of southern Ontario along the lea of Lake Huron, I noticed in last night's national forcast that New England states were going to get hit with two fronts , one from the west and one from the Carolinas supposedly with up to a foot of snow...how y'all doing down there this morning? About 7" 20 miles SE of Hartford. Still snowing at 4:00PM but very fine and light snow - I think it's pretty much over. Plowed for about an hour and my '47 H with a 6' front blade didn't miss a beat. With the carb rebuild and adjustment, it runs at a proper lean mixture now. I didn't measure how much but it consumed very little gas - certainly under a gallon - and it was going full bore the whole time.

I still haven't gotten the timing to show anywhere near where I think it should be with either the static or dynamic timing light but it's running so well, I ain't gonna fix it. I'll explore that one when I don't need to plow for a while.

It was around 23F and calm when I plowed. This is balmy compared to the 3F/35MPH winds time that gave me some rough running. As an aside, I spoke with a seventy-five year old farmer (raises Belgians) and he said that was one of very few times he'd seen it snow in CT when it was that cold. I had a cardboard air-dam in front of the grill for about half of the hour - until I could smell the engine's warmed-up smell. The rest of the time I ran without it. So, I still have to prove it in real cold weather - perhaps I'll give it a test drive the next below zero morning. I'm still working on fabricating that intake air heater that goes around the muffler but I think the adjustments and the air dam may allow me to get by without it.

The clutch behaved fine as well - tightening up that one loose release lever did the trick. Thanks again Mike.

Dave

About 8 inches here, nice dry snow, plowed well. Warm today, in the teens. No wind for a change. Still snowing. Poor motorcycle weather.

Here on eastern Long Island we got about 6" so far. It's snowing lightly with no wind. My 400 has been getting a workout this winter on snow patrol. This is not Canada, but a cold winter for us and she starts right up and switches over to diesel so far no matter how cold it is.

Hi Mike, Not bad in Ct only 6-8" or so, the storm never really got going like I thought it would. Its still snowing but I dont think we will get too much more. I have been wanting to call my Vt neighbor and see what we got up there. Im going up tommorrow night and it would be nice to know before I get there! At least it warmed up to the teens.
