Ag Business and Production sounds like Factory Farming 101. They have ruined farming. Farmers are much more economically inefficient now than they ever have been. It is like having an outside manager come in to run a specialized business, they have no idea what you do or why. Firefighting - my best friends stepson (and the stepson's wife) were smoke jumpers and absolutely loved it. Now they have kids, but are still with the USFS. Low paid, exciting at times, dangerous. Wilderness Management ? I thought that you were just supposed to leave alone. Iron Worker - son in law is an iron worker, He is keeping busy (CT), but I'm not sure that everyone is. Sheet metal - building trades have traditionally been good ways to make a living. They can be seasonal. Small engine repair - everyone is busy working 70 hours a week (no overtime) and has no clue how to fix anything mechanical. Motorcycle mechanic friend says that working on bikes is the ruin of a good hobby. Probably don't make any money either. It is hard to find a good mechanic. Try'em all, see what you like. If you do find something, you can get up every morning looking forward to going to work.
