FARMALL H DOSEN'T TURN OVER

WENT TO CHECK COMPRESSION ON THIS TRACTOR.TRACTOR WAS SHITTING OVER THE WINTER.LAST TIME SHE WAS RUNNING IT WAS MISSING WHILE BATTERY WAS CHARGING I THOUGHT I WOULD CHECK FIREING ORDER.SO I TRY TURNING ENGINE OVER BY HAND AND ENGINE WOULD ONLY TURN ONE TURN IF LOOKING AT FAN' COMES TO COMPLETE STOP.ALSO FOUND FIREING ORDER WAS WRONG.GUY'S ANY INFO WILL HELP ME A LOT I DON'T KNOW TO MUCH ABOUT THESE OLD RED ONES.TO LATE NOW AM HOOKED.

Pull the valve cover and check for a stuck valve. If you hit the valve very hard you could bend it.

Maybe your starter is hung up. Remove the starter and try turning over by hand.

Jim, a starting point is to pull spark plugs, may be water in a cylinder. Another posibillity is a stuck valve.

Jim did you pull all the plugs and try turning it over???? sound like it may have a cylinder full up water? Just a thought. John

If it was indeed doing what you said it was all winter, you better watch where you step. Firing order is 1342, #1 is next to the radiator, the # 1 distributer terminal is the top right looking from the rear -- should be marked.
