Okay, I am at a loss here. I picked up this old tractor this week out of the weeds, and I can't positively id it. I don't think it's a 140, but maybe it is. The SN plate is on the left side of the clutch housing, and reads 27365J HC. So, not sure what it is. It looks to be the size of an a/av, but the plate wouldn't be on the clutch housing, it would be under the seat. Any thoughts? Would really like to know.

with that diamond shaped front axle, it looks like an industrial A, but thats the widest industial A axle that i have seen.....I wonder if its a military or airport specialty tractor

It looks like a B or BN with a 100-140 torque tube and an A front end. Don't know what engine it has, but the grille won't fit anything but a C113 radiator.

Rick, I agree with Hugh in that this appears to be a tractor made of different parts. The bell housing would seem to be from a numbered series tractor, the wide front end appears to be from an industrial. The grill could be from an A or Super A. It looks like it has touch control hydraulics which would suggest it was a super A. The left side axle extension is from a B or BN which does not go with the touch control since Touch Control was not an option on the B or BN. It is probably easier from this picture to tell what it isn't rather than what it is. If you had pictures of all four sides, someone might be able to narrow it down a bit, but it won't change the fact that this is more than one tractor made into one at some time. It now appears to be many tractors once again.

Rick: I think you have a Heinz 57. I see parts there from just about every offset Farmall ever built, excluding the Cub.

You have sure got a mystery here. The wide rear axels (the right and left sides the same length)would indicate a model B but the wide front end would be from an A or SA. The grill is earlier that a 100 or 140. The serial number plate being on the bell housing is from a number series not a letter series tractor.

We need more pictures and info.

Does the serial plate say anything else? Like something printed on it? Plesae send more pictures i'm curious. Does the engine have a hydraulic pump on it? Does the chasis have any codes on it? Does the frontend? Where are you located? What size rims?

Does the HC stand for High crop, I thought the b didn't come in a highcrop, and i thought the tag was under the seat for a B.

Thanks, Rick

Serial tag in right place, operator platform correct for 100/130/140 model. Missing manifold would have helped narrow that down. It appears to have touch control hydraulics. Wide left rear axle is puzzling. Without more pictures, my guess would be a 140HC that someone stuck the wrong grill on. More pictures or post tire diameters to verify a HC tractor (36" vs 24" rear tires).

The "V" designations went out with the letter series models.
