I read your question wrong, the M bearings and shaft will fit. Hal

The main bearing journals on the Super M crankshaft is .060" greater in diameter than the M. The rod journal is .050" larger than the M.
I still believe you'll have to use the Super M
bearings. These inserts have to be thinner in thickness since the rods are the same for both tractors. If you have the M engine disassembled
put the Super M crank in for a dry fit with its old inserts. I would do this before ordering parts. Good Luck, Hal

According to the IH dealer in our area the Farmall M and Super M use the same connecting rods. The rod journal on the Super M is 2.5475-2.5485" and on the M it is 2.4975-2.4985". The mains on the M are 2.7475-2.7485". I thought the
bearings in the Super M may have been wider in width, but if the rods are same number, that isn't true. It should fit using the Super M bearings. The stroke is 5.25" on both tractors.
I was also concerned about the height of the pistons at full travel, but this looks to be alright. Good Luck Hal

Hi, My manual has the main journal at 2.808 inches for the Super M crankshaft. Do you have any
measurements for the M shaft? The cid for the M
is 248 and the Super M is 264. Hope this is some help. Hal
