I have seen a few post about the grease fitting on the H to grease the pilot bearing. I have removed the plate on the clutch housing and greased the fitting that is straight down looking at me but is there two fitings in there? I saw a post where you must turn the engine untill one shows up. Thanks

BB

As others said, the pilot bearing fitting is in the rim of the flywheel. It is recessed, so it may be covered with grease and dirt and hard to locate. Most pilot bearings have been replaced by now with "permanently" lubed bearings and thus the fitting may not be connected to anything. If it is like the M, there is a tube that runs on the front side of the flywheel to the pilot bearing. If you find the fitting, don't give it more than a couple pumps from the gun. Too much and you'll get grease on the clutch with not so good results. Also needs grease no more than once a year, maybe not that much if you just have a show tractor, doing no real work.

The one you saw lubricates the throw out bearing. There is another fitting in the outside rim of the flywheel that lubes the pilot bearing. It lines up with a round hole just behind the oil pan when the single notch is at the pointer.

I don't know about the H, but I have seen pilot bushing grease fittings. It would be a grease passage drilled through from the outer edge of the flywheel to the center, and yes you have to turn the engine till it lines up. I never looked on my H to see if there was one.
