Hello-This has got me puzzled. Especially since I don't know how to describe it. Most people here already know I'm talking about a BN. ;) Picture this...turn the steering wheel all the way to the left until it hits the stop. Now, start turning right...at this point it will slightly begin to turn, then the wheels will stop turning, you'll feel a "clunk" and after turning the steering wheel about two inches, the wheels will start to turn again. I'm pretty sure I know the problem. The bearing at the end of the worm shaft is moving up and down with the shaft, so when you start turning left, the shaft pushes itself up until it hits the top of the casting, and when you start turning right, the gear freely screws itself downward until it hits the plug at the end, forcing it to stop moving forward and start transferring the force to the opposing worm gear. I don't know what to do, nor do I understand what normally would hold the bearing in place and eliminate all that play. I hope this made sense. ;) ffolkes
