Well, pushing my 91 f150 4x4 well beyond its intended limmits has come home to roost.
2 years of towing balers to the fields. Some 30 mi away by the way. Towing hay racks back and forth. Delevering hay and hauling tractors.
Has ripped the guts out of her.

Could we please give a moment of silence for the real heros of the hobby farmer. The ones who gives until it hurts. The Pick up truck..... ...

Found my replacement beater truck at a farm sale this weekend. 1975 Ford F250 camper special 2wd.
Wife said " Why dont you go buy a newer one?" I said " And treat it like this? Heck no!" Besides I need one I can buy replacment parts cheap.

What you really need for a beater is a F-350 they hold up better and take abuse a little better, and will handle your baler better.

I suppose I could take a photo. Nothing to look at though. Just a old farm truck.
I just figure its cheaper to buy one every year for 5 or 6 hundred then spend that a month for a payment. But those new ones sure do look nice, Real nice.
Oh cripes I better watch out. I may go on my old " Why does the wife get the new car wile I get the beaters" Tyrade again. I already know the answer.

The old saying "If you have to ask how much it costs you can't afford it." doesn't quite fit.
It's more, "If you worry about how much it costs you won't enjoy it."
