another carb question for cub

Thanks to those who responded to my last question. In reference I have a 66 IH cub, and was going to get a carb kit.. but noticed the tisco kit ( all I could find locally ) was a kit for the IH carb only.. not the zeinith carb that the 184/185 used. It appears my cub has that zeinith carb on it. I had wondered if it was compatible.. but someone here posted that the IH carbs had warping problems.

To ask one more question.. Was there a downside to swapping a 184/185 carb onto a cub? IE.. did you have to adjust it leaner or anything?

Also.. where can you get a carb kit for that zeinith carb. TSC only has the kit for the IH carbs for the cub.

While I can't find a number on this carb, I'll assume the number listed in the IH-50 manual, in the 154/184/185 section referes to the correct zeinith carb # 68YY7 ??? ( source for kits? )

Thanks again

Soundguy

No the kits are not the same. get in touch with Ken Updyke at www.cngco.com. (Carter & Greunewald). The manufacturer kits are more expensive, but come with more componets and are better quality.

hi soundguy, if tsc cant help you, with the zenith, look for either a metal tag, or the carb number, this number will be stamped in the body, not cast, then go to a good auto parts store, we used to be able to look these up and order them, but it takes a sharp parts guy to know where to look in his old books, then he can transfer that number to his curent line and get it, or his wharehouse can outsource it and pick it up for him , you might even take the carb with you if you already have it off for id purposes, hope this helped, ericlb
