I cant say to much here even though I would like to tell everybody the whole story. But here we go I was surfing the forum for things a few weeks ago and ran across a post that caught my eye. It was a tool to use on Farmalls. So I decided to go to ebay and look and see if I could find one to bid on. Yep there was a pretty nice one. So I put a bid on it that was about half of what a lot of the guys normally pay for one on here. Well, I ended up with it. It came and it was brand new very very nice exelent brand name also. I was happy. Well, a few days go by and I receive an email from ebay and the person wanted to know what I received and what type of box And what marking or brand name because I may have received the wrong item. I figured the guy may have made a screw up so I emailed the info back. I pretty much new I had the right one but I figured maybe someone else got something that did not belong to them and he was trying to make it right. OH BOY WAS I WRONG. I had bought stolen merchandise and I have received a lot of emails from some pretty important people since. The ebay email ended up being not from the seller as you can probably figure. It looks like I am going to make out all right. Pretty much becuase I didnt know what I was getting into on this purchase. So I cant tell any of you to beware because I didn't do any thing stupid or wrong myself. The person had very good feed back. And please Dont let this discourage anyone from Bidding or Buying on Ebay. I have picked up a lot of great stuff from very reputable Folks. I am basically telling you what happened to me and its not over For me yet I dont think.

That"s a bad situation, but you know the same thing can just as easily happen to you responding to the local paper want ads. I personally have never had a bad experience on Ebay, buying or selling, but I know people who are terrified of using Ebay, for the possibility of getting taken. Caveat emptor, Ebay or not!

Mag,

Now, you know darned well that the bad guy has all the rights in this country.

So, what ya gotta do is send the tool back, pay him double for his trouble, all his legal expenses, pay the original owner triple for his lost tool, time, expenses and mental anguish.

Further, you have to promise you'll never, ever bid on anything ever again.

Fess up; you know you are in big trouble, Buddy! :>)

just so you know, though i'm sure you already do, it is not reci and conceling stolen property if you paid a fair price. what is a fair price? hard to pin down but at half you are covered so don't sweat it.

also YOU DO NOT HAVE to give any info to anyone that e-mails you. i don't care if it's god himslef.

they have legal remedies and procedures to get info from you IF IT IS NECESSARY AND THEY ARE NOT DONE THROUGH E-MAIL!

this could be a scam also. any thing ebay does as far as legal situations, and they do occur, will not be handled with e-mail either.

we just had a local 21 year old nurse busted for selling 2 heart pacemakers on e-bay for $400 each. the hospital she works for and stole them from pays $4500.

be very careful with anybody on the internet. leagal situations are not handled on computers!

OH NO I am Pretty Sure this Nightmare is Real. I would like to say more but I am going to have to wait. The reason being If the person uses this board and They are still investigating him or Her before aresting them. I dont want to be the one to throw a wrench in to the works. I will tell you this its been farther than emails. I am exspecting a badge top show up for a deposition At some point. And No I did not even come close to paying half. It was more like 10% to 12% of the net worth. I think things will turn out pretty good for me though. And as soon as I can I will let you know more and what it was.
