444 Non-Diesel 3-pt hitch troubles...

3 pt hitch will not go down when tractor is running, very hard to hook up implements this way ;)

I managed to struggle and get a blade on there, but even then, it takes FOREVER to go down when you move the lever down...

I played with the "fast or slow" knob for the 3 pt hitch, but that did not help...

Does the 444 have downward hyd pressure on the 3 pt, or is it just like all the 8 & 9N's we've had, just bleeds off hyd fluid?

If it just bleeds off, is there a restriction somewhere? Can I adjust this anywhere except that fast-slow flow valve?

Right now we simply can't hook up any implements...

Nothing seems to change...

Could something be sticking in the isolation valve???

Lever was all the way to heavy...

Here"s the deal, with the tractor not running, 3 pt hitch is down, lever is down, draft lever in heavy position.

Start up the tractor and the 3 pt lift goes up on it"s own, even with the lever down!

Can"t get it to go down under it"s own weight unless you turn off the tractor...

When tractor is idling, I can stand on the lift (190 lbs) it goes down, as soon as I jump off, up it goes again. All while the lever is in the full down position...

When I was plowing some snow, it was real anoying, took forever to drop the blade, and it did not scrape the driveway very well, like the 3 pt was not allowing the full weight of the blade on the pavement...

Never had to worked on 3 pt hydraulic system so hope someone else can help you.
