Had a similar thing happen. We were helping rebuild a dairy barn after a fire. Volunteer labour, all farmers, going like hell to rebuild in October. Two hundred and twenty foot long ,hipped roof ,tiestall, with 2x4 on edge ceiling. The ceiling/nailing crew was working about 20 feet ahead of the rafter gang. Getting shot in the pocket book was a regular occurence! Luckily, only one guy took a nail in the hand , and he was the gun operator.

Mitch: The sound of those words make it hurt. I once heard of a guy getting one of those air nails in the head. He survived, thus was quite lucky as well. They fall in just about same catergory as chain saw for danger.

To Jon, a speedy recovery is my wish. Don't see you burning up the key board here at YT tonight. I can well imagine how that knee feels. You take good care.

Ouchie!!! Alot of accidents with those things.
Get in a hurry to GET-R-DONE!!!
Closest I came to that was one of those Stanley Staplers. The kind that are backwords compared to the normal kind. Works great for getting more leverage on the lever. Putting up some plastic sheeting. Holding it up with the left hand, reached back with the right grabbed the stapler. Put the stapler to the plastic. Left hand slid down to the bottom of the stapler. KaThunk!!!!
OUCHIE!!!! 3/4 inch staple planted fermly in the palm of my hand righ into the bone. Grrrrr. I looked at my hand, looked at the stapler.
STupid....
Dropped that new on in the dumpster, pulled out the staple. Grabbed my old silver Swingline and finnished the job.

Shot a finish nail through my knuckle once. Hurt like h*** ! I suppose the rosin coating doesn't help there. Anyway,he will get better. It will probably take longer to get past the ribbing than it will to heal up !
