I have just aquired a 16" International Harvester grist mill and was wondering if anyone might have any literature, ads or operators manuals for this mill.I know they were made by Meadows Mill for IHC and sold through tractor dealerships.I am going to restore it and would like to get as close to original as possible.May need some parts if anyone might have any lying around.Haven't contacted Meadows yet as I figured I could find out more here since it is IHC.By the way I have a 1949 M to pull it with .Thanks for any help. LLS

You say you need parts, but you don't mention which parts you need. The biggest thing is you need to determine the size of the stones and whether it has the wooden casing or the cast iron casing for the stones. These are fairly simple machines and it shouldn't be hard to find info on them, especially through Meadows. There should be a wooden block/board on top of the stone housing that the shoe and the hopper sit on...check around the outside edge of this board for a stamped serial number. Don't know about the IHC mills, but that's where meadows put them on their production mills. Meadows should have all the setup/maintenance info you need. Those guys are extremely knowledgable and have all records so i actually think THEY would be more helpful in rounding up dates and parts. If you have any questions on general maintenance/setup/operation feel free to email me as I ran a 24" meadows for many years. BTW, a 24" mill only requires about 5-6 hp to run...the M is almost overkill, and pay attention to operation RPMs.

Jeb

Thanks for your reply and comments, What I am most interested in were pictures and/or specs on these old mills. All the parts are with mine although some will need repair especially the weavel board an shaker mechanism.I am going to contact Meadows and may go there as I am only about 2 to 3 hours from them. Yea the M is a bit much but I use it on another Meadows at about 550 to 600 rpm.Makes some fine corn meal.
Lloyd thanks again

I wish it were mine. I've been looking for one for awhile that I could run off my Super C PTO.
