Fuel Problems for '53 Cub

I'm having a problem with the fuel flow for my cub. The problem started after I replaced the sediment bowl, gasket, and screen. When I tighten up the bowl no fuel will flow from the tank. When I loosen the retaining clip it allows the fuel to flow but obviously fuel then leaks over the top of the bowl. I've tried everything that I can think like removeing the fuel strainer and cleaning it, making sure there are no obstructions in the tank and lines etc. There's got to be something I'm missing along the way. Also the fuel flow problem happens with the gas cap on or off. So I'm running out of options. Thanks for the help!!!!!

That has happened on every tractor I have ever owned. you have to loosen it untill it fills up or open the plug on carb or take fuel line off. they get air locked onceit fills it should stay filled untill you run out of gas. If not try blowing compressed air back through the line while opening the valve maybe your tank petcock thingy is plugged. JON

Remove the plug on the bottom of the carburetor to check for good, continuous fuel flow. My money would bet the inlet screen in the carburetor is plugged.

Oh the joys of technology. After I asked the question the computer went down. Now I have the answer I'll give 'em a try. Thanks again.
