Shucks,

Went to strap these bad boys on my 686 'cause the local Co-Op is coming in the morning with a Big-A to sling phosphate.

Tractor's prior owner had run the silly thing with the wheels dished in. So, this means I gotta swap all the lugs around to the other direction. Darned tires are loaded too.

Worked until dark last night and got one wheel moved in on the rim. Forgot what a job that was; not to mention the rust and frozen lug bolts.

Geeze! :>(

If you were in Missouri you could try them on the other side instead of turning them around. ;-)

Brian,

Don't think that didn't cross my mind for a few seconds there when I realized what was going on. :>)

The old brain was trying to rationalize the backward tread along with the added benefit of less work. :>)

Oh well, we do what we have to do.

Allan,
You can always put those bad boys on your Chevy pick-up. Might take a little Nrbraska Engineering, but I have faith in ya'!

That would be a job allright, but I think you still got off pretty lucky. I had to do the same wheel reversing thing on one of my Hs, took me about a week to get some of those bolts out of the cast center.

Mornin' Rusty,

I'm so accustomed to them being loose from being changed every so often.

Boy! When they stay in the same position for years on end, they really have a tendency to freeze up, don't they? Groan! :>(

Aw well, nice to be out in the sunshine and air again tho.

Allan

Yep, my tractor was 60 years old at the time, I'm pretty certain that part of the tractor was all original, just like it came from the factory. I tried cleaning those bolts up so I could reuse them, but by the time I got the rust knocked off, some of those bolts were only about 1/2 the diameter they should have been. Kinda scary to see that after I had been using the tractor.

It belongs to my neighbor that I help do hay with.
Pitiful - ain't it!?!? He thinks it's the berries 'cause it's new with AC and heat.
I call it the "sissy tractor"...

Not a problem scotty,
That thing IS a "sissy" tractor!!! I tease him all the time about it he's got two of 'em - in his defense he's also got two 1086's and lets me borrow one when I need it.

My 350 is not a "D" - just a gas burner...
Glad it's not as hard as parts are to fine for the D...

Looks you need to bring that one inside where it's warm, it's starting to turn blue from the cold.
