Clutch acting up in our 1586 was put in 2yrs ago. When you let clutch out as slow as possible it will jump forward when it engages. Dealer come out and checked adjustments and didnt help. Split tractor took clutch in and everything looks fine. Has linkage update. What could be causing this before we put back together to try.

Yep, definetly sounds like a classic case of the dump valve being out of adjustment. Get your transmission oil pressure light working. Adjust dump valve so the light goes out right before the main clutch engages. Wish I could say it was somthing else, all that work redone because a five-minute adjustment was skipped.

Cab mounts could be bad also if they are the clutch can get jumpy.

Check a couple pages back in this forum. There's a thread where another guy was having the same problem with a different tractor. The TA system is the same design, so it's got to be the same problem: It's probably still out of adjustment, regardless of what the dealer tells you.

I think it's the linkage to the TA dump valve that's out of adjustment. When you push the clutch, it kinda does the same thing as holding the TA lever in the middle (NOT recommended). The tractor's not in direct drive or TA. When you let the clutch out, it engages the TA. The clutch is already engaged, the tractor's not moving, so it jumps ahead.

i HAVE A 1086 THAT WAS DOING THE SAME THING IT IS NOT SET RIGHT. You need to have the trans lite go out before the clutch will engage. I think what is happening is the clutch is ingageing then the t/a it should be the other way. I did't set it it was the dealer.

Sounds like we split tractors for nothing. Did find one of the clutch clutch fork screw in all way. It does jump forward a little then stops till you let clutch out more.
