Use a short 1/2 inch box end and patience to get the back bolt off the carb.

Say, there are still manuals (operators, service, parts ) available for these tractors. If you are planning on using your tractor, it could be money well spent.

To get the carb bolts off can be fun and not in a good way. We ended up taking a cheap china wrench and heating it and the bending it so it would be easy to do. You can also find wrenchs that are bent for just that type of problem, they are not easy to find. As far as chacking the oil theres to pet cocks the top one is the full and the bottom one is the low level. Open the bottom one and if oil comes out your ok if not fill till oil comes out the top one.

for the carb nut, use an open end wrench - 1/2" if I remember correctly, and a lot of patience. If the stud comes loose instead of the nut, don't worry about it. It's pretty common.

You have two petcocks on the side of your oil pan.
Open the top one by unscrewing it a couple of turns and add oil until it starts to drip out of the petcock, then tighten it up. It's now at the proper level.

Keep in mind that the threads are reverse on the petcocks. Counter clockwise opens petcocks...
