Well we spit the boy's SC today, sure glad we did. Torque tube was filled with silt, oil saturated silt. Bell housing was full of oil pack dirt clear up to the flywheel. Was even packed in behind the flywheel.

Throwout bearing was shot and froze up, would not move forward or back. Clutch disk was stuck to pressure plate.

Even had a birds' nest in the torque tube , go figure.

But does have rebuilt clutch disk and new pressure plate.

need to replace rear main seal and throwout bearing....
Need the parts # for both,..C123 Engine # 152918
Cast # 354898 R1....manufacture date 4-30-X

Anyone have parts # for items we need...Thanks

Keith & Shawn

K&S,
I made a real a$$ out of myself a couple of years ago when I split my SC and asked on this board if the torque tube fiberous insulation present was factory-installed, maybe for sound deadening. I was quickly informed it was NOT factory-installed, but MOUSE-installed nesting material. That explained the ammonia smell associated with it!!!

Keith I put a clutch kit in my brothers super c. Had to press the bearing on the old retainer. the kit did not come with a retainer. Got bearing only. Bill

Thanks Bill, it sure looked like you could replace bearing only. I can just imagine what they would want for the bearing and retainer....

As soon as I get the shop cleared from my honey-do list, my SC is coming in for a full restoration. More power to you and good luck.

Keith, I looked in my Super C part catalog and think I know the parts you are taking about but the nomenclature is a little different. The rear main seal is called rear crankshaft felt oil seal p/n 24425D quantity (2) needed - upper and lower halves. It also appears you will need qty. (2) 43447D crankshaft rear oil seal retainer center gaskets which fits between the upper and lower crankshaft oil seal retainers. Throwout bearing is called clutch release bearing and retainer p/n 350830R31 and this is for a tractor without the hydra-creeper attachment. Hope this helps. Hal

Yep Hal, they are made of felt, pulled retainer off to make sure earlier.

Clutch release bearing and retainer, comes as a unit? Sure looks like one could press bearing off retainer. Oh well. Will call and see if local dealer has them in stock.....Thanks a lot..
