Jerry: You've lost me somewhere, is the blade in your photo the one that is priced at $700. in PA? I took it to be the blade Scott was viewing. Somehow I think I'm wrong on both counts. Just think back to all that snow you shoveled. I can remember when Super A came out new. Two guys near our place each bought one of those blades with their new Super A's. I knew at a very young age what a great little snow plowing tractor these were. We plowed snow at home first with H then later 300. After we got the 130, dad was in village one day and saw one of these SA plowing snow. That night while milking the cows he said, " I think we plow our snow with wrong tractor, those little offsets make the big tractors look bad. I mentioned the village near our home farm, in the 1950s probably 100 homes, 3 general stores, bank, post office, church, hospital, etc. Three guys with three tractors kept drivways and parking lots cleared of snow. The three tractors were a Super A with factory blade, Super C with fabricated blade and a MF 35 with loader and snow bucket. Today there are probably 200 homes and same other buildings. Today it requires about a dozen 4x4 pickups, 2 skid loaders, couple of big tractors and a payloader to keep folks plowed out. I think the difference lies in the fact, the old timers from the 50s did not have coffee shops to sit around in and brag about how well they were doing against mother nature. I figure it takes about 10 times the hp per cubic yard of snow, in 2005.
