I am still having problems with my super w6 and a miss athigh rpm or under load. I recently changed the oil to sae 30 and I now have been getting about 1/2 in of oil in the bottom of the precleaner mason jar. The oil level is right at the bottom of the air cleaner? Any idea as to what is wrong or what kind of problem this could be?
Thanks
joel

The cup is marked at the correct level, you don't fill it.

you mean that in the bottom of the air cleaner you do not fill that cup with oil? it has a line that says to add oil to a certain level. However, that is not the cup I am talking about. I am talking about oil coming from somewhere and ending up in my mason jar attached to the precleaner. Thanks

In your original post when you said: The oil level is right at the bottom of the air cleaner?, I assumed you filled it. I have never seen the problem you have. It is more likely to happen with thinner oil in warm weather if it is coming from the air cleaner itself. The air cleaner attaches to a tube coming from the head, sort of like a PCV valve. That draws fumes and perhaps a little oil back into the air cleaner. But, it sounds like your W6 is badly out of tune. That can cause weird things sometimes.

i have the same problem with my C when it is under a load and at a high idle it will stall and "cough" a little oil. it will start right back up and go for a while then do it all again.

believe the "cough" is causing the oil to get into the jar. It is a backfire and literally blows oil from the air cleaner up into the jar. backfire can be caused by a lot of things; ignition (coil, condensor, timing), burnt valve or valve sticking, or carburetor mixture (usually too lean).

Running backward on shutdown can move the oil also.

For what it is worth.
