Hi All,

I bought a front end loader with snow plow attachment this week and when i went to pick it up The previous owner and i were taking it off the tractor and i noticed that there was a decent size (maybe 3 quart capacity) hydraulic reservior attachhed to the filler spout of the liftall pump. I put the laoder on my tractor this weekend and it works pretty well with the existing 6 quarts on the liftall pump, but it would be very helpful if i can get it up just a little higher..... Anyone know where i can get one of those....or another way to make one?

If you can't completely raise the loader, then you're going to ruin your hydraulic pump sooner or later. They don't like being run dry, or being deadheaded for that matter.

Add some capacity via an external reservoir.

put live pump on my h several years ago and decided i needed more capacity for oil. this one holds almost 6 1/2 gallons. i am sure yuo could mount something like this to your loader frame and plumb it into your belly pump to furnish oil. scroll down -- tank pics are at bottom of album.

If I put a loader on the 400 I'm going to do something like that but mount it to the loader and use a pioneer coupler to hook it to the resevoir drain, that way it can be unhooked with the loader. Just thought of something though. The resevoir isn't pressurized on those are they?

RT,

IH used to sell that 1 gallon extension for the Hs and Ms.

I bought one on a farm sale one time and like a derned fool I didn't take it off when the tractor sold.

I've never seen one since either. :>(

I saw a retangular 5 gal. one this morning at our local farm store. Had a couple angle brackets on the bottom to mount on a flat surface. It appeared to be 8" - 10" wide and about 14" long and about 8" high. Label indicated it was a 5 gal. capacity. Didn't look for a price as I didn't know I was going to see this post when I returned home. It also had a fill cap on top, and two threaded holes near the bottom for inlet and outlet connections. If you want more info on this unit send an email and I'll check it out for you next time I'm in town. These were commerically made for distribution through some source.
