Kind'a nice day to be out. Grass is growing and I'll be able to turn the girls out soon. The bulls are already taking care of themselves.

Here in the south, a pasture like that means someone once spent a lot of $$$ on dozer work.

I thought Nebraska was flat! Nevertheless, I think I see the edge of the earth in these pictures.. How many acres of this land does it take to support a cow or cows? Is this farm land? Land suitable for irrigation? I am feeding 3 horses here. I have 10 acres that I cut 67 round bales of hay off of and got them through the winter with 5 bales left--besides supplying a neighbor with his hay. I guess, what I am saying is, not being acquainted with land out your way, that it is not a grass productive as it is here in the south. I sure would like to know some details.

It's Kansas that's flat. Cross the border on US 83, head for McCook and North Platte, and you get instant "mountains". At least they feel like mountains when you are pulling a trailer.

Pretty, but I can't help but think your sea of grass needs more water. Don't you ever water ? I had the sprinklers running today.

You guys saying you need water can come up here to the Upper Midwest and have all you want. Seems like we can't go two days this spring without rain. It seems it only quits raining long enough just to get the lawn mowed. It's getting to the point where all this topsoil isn't gonna be able to hold what Mother Nature is pouring down on us. On a good note though...all the mechanic-ing is getting done since there is no reason to go outside!
