what,s all this stuff about JD,s being woth more than other one,s out there,
I mean what,s this?
My W-6 isnt worth anything compared to something green?
what the heck did i do?
Blow it when I bought It Instead of a Johnny Popper?
I thought I was getting something halfway decent,
But now I hear that It,s below grade compared to something with green paint on it,shoot man ,I give up!

I have an idea that IH would be where deere is today if they didn't have like the 460/560 rear drive failures that put deere in the top place, A lot of city kids wear Deere crap and I just tell 'em; Nothing runs like a Deere, but nothing smells like a john, and " why are deere's painted green- so when they break down in the cornfield they blend in, And my favorite, I tell them, grandpa's got a 4020 the only reason he keeps it around is to remind him never to buy another one. Oh you should see the looks on faces. Like Bob said it's a fad

John Deere has become a "pop culture icon".

That's the way it is, but like any fad, I'm sure it will pass.

It just slays me to see city kids who have no idea what a tractor is, or a farm, for that matter, wearing Deere hats.

I read recently that Deere makes more money off of licensing it's name for various clothes, toys, and "knick knacks" than it makes profit on the sale of it's equipment.

While I doubt that's true, it does give you and idea of how popular Deere stuff is with the masses!

Oh heck, that's entirely believable. The Deere logo is literally everywhere, and the farm equipment business ain't a fraction of what it used to be.

JDs are no better or worse than any other brand of tractor. The only reason that the 2 poppers bring more money is because the JD collectors have artificially inflated the prices. Those of us who collect and use the other colors of farm equipment are more down to earth in what we will pay for a tractor.

Kirk, I have heard for years that the JD's are better than all others , but when it comes to selling them, I have always had a hard time selling them. Farmalls seem to do better for me.

Awright Brother,
the Truth FINALLY MAKES ITSELF KNOWN,
Right on, Im the same way,
John Deere has turned Into a trendy make that,s no better than other,s,
In fact, Ive had this little 180 garden tractor in the shop 3 time,s since it was new,
If that dosnt say something for problem,s , than I dont know what does?
I think Ill keep my W-6, and be done with it,
And another thing,
I saw this Belarus Don 1500 combine,
Really liked it alot, nice looking combine,
turns out it has low hrs and is a demo,
so Im kinda thinking about it,
I want to make sure I can get part,s for it though,
It dosnt seem to be a problem,
I appreciate you getting back to me on this tractor matter,
Keep In Touch ok?
Kirk C,

You are right about JD not being any better than some others. However, I'm not sure I'd rush out and buy a Belarus combine to prove the point. There will be a reason it doesn't have many hours and yes, you'll be needing parts.
