I see all kinds of Super M's with the TA out. What could a guy expect to pay to have one rebuilt? Thanks

$500. you furnish parts. Discount $50. per tractor if doing more than one. 5 hour turn around per tractor. How many do you have to do? Let me know

Labor costs are getting so out of line these days it's going to eventually ruin collecting except for those who can do the work themselves. Lot of the guys just working out of their garage with little over head are charging 40-50 dollars per hour. CRAZY! That will only change when they stop getting customers.

I can sell you the parts to rebuild the unit for about $130.00, Or a complete rebuilt unit for about $475.00. JON

Get the TA rebuild video. $25 or so.
Replace the rollers $50
Replace ramp $150 if needed.
TA Throw out bearing $10
Seal kit $50
Rear main engine seal $10 ( might as well)
Clutch job $150 ( you got it apart this far)
15 gal Hytran $100 or so.
1,000,000 questions answered here at YT... Priceless.
Might as well pull the belt pulley so you can see the trans gears.

It will depend on who splits the tractor. If you are mechanically inclined...you can split it and do the repairs with the aid of an IT shop manual. If all parts are bad...(worse case scenario) 5 hundred to 600 for replacements from a salvage yard. Plus a new disc, and some new seals. If you are going to have someone else do it....It is usually 750 to 1 thousand plus any major parts. I charge 800 plus parts. The last one I did cost $58.00 plus the 800 labor. A real cheap fix on that one. Another one was 712 in parts plus the 800. So you can see that the price can vary greatly. I like to always expect the worse...unless I can here the tractor. If the T/A slips after it has been warmed up a bit....then usually it is worn out clutches in the ta. Not to costly. If the thing is making terrible sounding metalic noises....It will usually be costly. Hope this helps. E-mail me if you got questions. Given the estimates that I saw, why do the repair shops charge between $1500 to $3000 to do the complete job?

Labor charges plus they mark up those parts like you wouldn't believe.

Ya and my experience with shops is, and ya can't blame them if they have to stand behind the finished product, they won't leave anything that is marginal or the least bit worn alone. They will change everything that "might make it" cause they don't want to have to do it twice. Harley

Keep in mind that besides the actual unit repair theres a T/A clutch, shafts and bearings that could need replaced. Seals,gaskets,O ring and 15 gallons or so of oil.

Yep, and it's also a very good time to replace the main clutch as well, so figure in about $200 for that plus having the flywheel machined.

Neighbor took entire unit to Bednarsky (He advertises nationally & has TA's come in by UPS & sends them back fixed). Cost him $625.
