Will stepped pistons work in a tractor fuel head? 52 Super C. Do I need to find flat head pistons? The guy at Yesterdays Tractors didn't know. I ask him this while trying to order an engine kit. Thanks.

The step head will be fine and you could even run a high alt. piston and still have enough clearance .

The Super C's had the C123cid engine that had a sleeve bore of 3.125". You could install an overbore kit without any machining to 3.250" bore. You can probably install the stepped head pistons if the head hasn't been milled a lot. If it has the valves may not have enough clearance
to clear the pistons. Hal

You must be careful with your thinking and measuring. The gas engine I have has 3 7/16 pistons. The other ones I have have 3 3/8 pistons.
