I was riding my motorcycle in the mountains and I found a M. It has not been ran in a while. It had a pile of dirt from a rodent digging in the ground and piled on the wheel. I would say it has been there at least a year or more. The motor is not stuck and it has good tires. It has good metal and everything looks good. The paint is what it is, old. For being left in the hills it looks very good. The numbers are FBK 237503 XJA It looks like it is a 1950 is that right? I assume that the letters FBK mean it is a M. What do the letters XJA mean? Ron

Sounds like the title to a Country-Western song. Maybe the Cornhusker Cowman could write some lyrics!

It could be a 1, It was hard to read. I think it was a tractor that was used to pull a sheep camp. It was by a old set of sheep corrals. It is funny where you find old tractors. What would it be worth? Ron

Yup, looks like a "50.

If it runs, then it is worth more. How is the tin? The overall condition of the engine?

I would guess about $1000.

The tin is in very good shape, but no fenders. There really is not much oil and grease on the engine. I noticed that the battery is installed with a negative ground. I thought they were a positive ground, and it has a 12 volt battery. like I said tires look good. For the life of me I can't figure why they would just leave it. I might have to do some snooping. I don't need another tractor, but it might be a good deal for someone. Ron

The closest I can come to XJA is X1A, which mean gasoline engine, low speed gears -- meaning a slow speed 1st gear.

X1A is low speed gears, gasoline burning.
Are you sure it is XJA? The next digit after the X should be a number.
