I am just wondering, where should the needle be on a factory oil pressure gauge ( "O" "I" "L") of a Farmall H at low idle, 450 rpm's? Thanks!!

I think it depends first on the condition of the engine and secondly on the oil you have in it. My Super H which is in good condition but with a reasonable number of hours on it, the oil pressure stays at the "L" even at idle with 5w-30 oil in the summer when the engine is at operation temperature. I don't think lower oil pressure at idle is going to hurt the engine as long as you have some oil pressure. I remember some cars used to have an electrical circuit that didn't allow the oil light to come on at low rpm because the oil pressure was too low (I never trusted those idiot lights anyway). Roger

Depends on the oil. Straight 30 near mid scale or a bit lower. 10-30 at the o (off zero an 1/8" or more). 20-50 above mid scale. All when vry warmd up. JimN

On my M when it is warmed up, carries pressure just under the "O", but when wide open it is at the "L". Cold at idle it will be up around the "L".
