I dont know much about this tractor, otherthan we put a new engine in it, runs great, had it on the dyno, and the pto speed at 1/2 throttle is over 750. It wont shut off, I think the bands are sticking and needs rebuilt, this one has me stumped,,, if I ran it full throttle,,, would be over 1000 rpm. not good for mowing!! LOL, any thoughts would be great! Thanks! Farmall 350 owner

Someone may have installed the gear set for the later clutch type PTO. Or you may have the later PTO unit sticking out the back of your rear frame.

You can check the tooth count of the driving PTO gear by removing the cover on the center section. I can't tell you the tooth count because I don't have a 350 parts book.

I think the former is unlikely because I believe it would slow down the PTO. I am inclined to believe that you have the wrong PTO unit. This would be the clutch type that first became available on the later 460's. The PTO lever has an overcenter clutch feel to it. The early one has a consistant pull feel and a latch to hold it in gear. The later type also has a concentric circle about 6" in diameter. It is used ro align a large right angle drive that is usually fitted with a belt pully.
