Hi all,

I'm a proud first time owner of a Super-M (Gasoline-WFE) and was hoping to get some screen names of other Super-M owners who could help me in answering specific questions about my new machine. I'm going "up north" (Minnesota) tonight to hopefully get it started and loaded for trailering back home. I've ordered manuals for it and will no doubt dig into them soon, however I think the experience and advice a person can get on this forum is priceless. If you are a Super-M junkie please reply and I'll keep you as a resource. Thank you very much!

I needed a tractor to pull my boats out of the river where I live. My brother had a cub, and I found a beat-up, running Super M,and bought it. A little more of a tractor then I needed!!!, but got hooked on the red machine. Love the sound of it,and the power.Enjoy tinkering on it. My little girl and I painted it up. Now have a B I'm working on. The guys here are great, have alot of knowledge, and you will learn alot from reading all the post. I have. Steve

WannaB, Welcome aboard. Check out the tractor registry on this site. You will find that most of the members of this group can answer questions you have. Just post em here and check email notification at the bottom. I have a 54 SuperM TA.

I hope I get it going tonight so I can get it home. It's at my In-Laws old place and last time I went up there (60 miles) I couldn't get it started. The engine wouldn't crank and I thought the starter was shot. I tryed to take the starter out with no success. I didn't have a pry-bar and didn't want to wreck anything so I gave up and bolted it back on. After asking on the forum I think that the starter was most likely just stuck. I was told that the starter would come out with a pry bar and some twisting. I got some 2 guage cables to replace the OLD ones and will clean up all my connections and try again. Once home, I'm really looking forward to fixing her up! As I said before, I'm very new to this so I appreciate you experienced people helping me out. I hope to have good news for you and the forum. This tractor was my Father In-Law's (HE LOVED IT) and now he's been put in a home due to Alzheimers, so it's going to always be of great sentimental value to me and I will feel honored to run it.

I own a '53 Super M. It was purchased new by my father in law and used on the farm until he retired about 15 years ago. So like your "new" tractor, mine has great sentimental value to my wife and myself.

Post your questions anytime - I'll answer 'em if I can!

Regarding your current "no start" problem it might be a jammed starter bendix. Try loosening the starter, wiggling it around and retightening. Another likely culprit is a bad starter switch - remove it and clean the contacts underneath. ...Bob M

I don't own a super M, but I do own an M, and for the most part there just isn't that much differance. Most of the parts are common to both tractors. I'd be glad to answer your questions.
