Maybe someone can give me idea of problem. It seems the steering bracket on tractor has gotten little loose. Referring to one which is directly to left of driver which contains touch control levers ignition etc. Located right behind battery. I looked but did not see any screws where could be tightened. May not looked good enough. Anyone ever have same problem? What should I look for and what would be best way to fix to tighten back up? Thanks.

Avery,
If it's like the Super-A, and it probably is, install the four small bolts w/nuts & washers that hold the BOTTOM of the battery box to the tractor, then the looseness should be gone for good. The bolts fasten the matching slots at the outside base of the battery box to those on the tractor, two on each side. BTDT.

Yes the support does move. The bolts are in place at the top of the battery box.And they do help some. Though It has more movement than I would like and afraid it may get worse as time goes on. Thanks

Avery: Are you as heavy as I, and do you grab the steering support post every time you get on the tractor? If the answer is YES to all of that, then yes the steering support post will move.

Now, there are a couple of things you can do; loose weight, not an option. Buy a step ladder, be hard keeping the ladder with you. Most logical is fabricate a step that comes out from the right final drive. Two of those 3/4" threaded holes should do the trick.

Seriously Avery, those steering shaft posts have always moved a bit no matter how light you are. I find the step very useful, and indeed very helpful as I age. I would be without one.

Avery: I gather the entire tower that supports steering shaft, throttle and hydraulic levers is moving, right or wrong? Those are bolted down to the cast housing, and by now some are starting to deteriorate from rust. Also that tower is supposed to be fastened to top of battery box via two 1/4" bolts. Quite often you see those bolts missing. Those bolt make a big difference, as the battery box creates quite a good brace.

I have on one tractor fabricated a new base for the tower, however that is quite rare.
