how far can you go on a head

I have a Farmall M head, casting number 8060, and i was wondering how far you can go when you mill your head..i was thinking about goin 100 thousands off but what do you guys think

Yes there is a limit if you want any valve adjustment left (valves not closing-no compression). I've seen one instance here where they went too far and had to resort to putting washers under the rocker shaft pedastals to achieve any valve adjustment. That's no way to do things, but if that's what you want to do, go for it.

Only take off what you need because if you ever need to take the head back off and resurface it you would be out of luck.

It"s not a question of how much you CAN take off. Rather how much do you NEED to take off. Just mill it until it"s perfectly flat. You know you may need to do it again in the future. Those combustion chambers were designed for good power and maximum durability as produced.

Pretty sure .100 will work fine, you might ask the pulling forum, they do it a lot.
