To go on a 2wk vacation rather th an break down all the parts that I did in the past two weeks....LOL

Started off easy with a flat trailer tire. Just pulled off the valve core stem. No tubes local in my size.

Then it was my new RV air compressor. I wanted a small unit for when I'm out boondocking to refrill tires. I got about 1hr of total use and the motor took a dump. Ohh we only warranty that unit for 90days and it's been 180days since you bought it. That was a expensive $40 for 1 hr use from Checker Auto. I can fix it latter on but just don't have the time to do it now. I have another $100 compressor scopped out at Cost-Co that I need to go look at.

My streaming stock charts quit streaming data and since I don't have DSL/Satellite (56kISP) there new OS will not work with my 56k system. But for the past year it's been working just fine. Were not going to maintain two OS just so you slow guys can use it. LOL I closed my account and moved on.

Then the refrigerator side /side took a dump. I'll have to check out that one, Only a 3yr old unit and have a 5yr waranty on the compression side, so we'll see

Now we talk about my baby IH 340U with an original Pippin loader/hoe. I was moving some earth from my pile and heard a snap. No movement in any gear. From the sounds, maybe a input shaft or a clutch disc or pinon/bull gear. It was break time and I didn't stick around too long afterwards and I'll need to a take a closer look

I guess it's time to pick up a parts tractor. I see a 300, 350, 404, 2464 and a 460 is my choice for a parts tractor.
My ? Are all the above units going to have the same part number gear(s) or jus the correct size gear ? Another words is there a better choice over one model than the others?

Suggestions?

T_Bone, sorry to hear of your string of rotten luck. As Paul Harvey says "...aint' no use worryin', ain't nothin' gonna turn out ok." I can suggest searching CNH website and once you click on the words 'right here' (last sentence on lower right), you can search by the different tractor models and compare part #'s to see what may be compatible. The link to the cnh website is below. I can also suggest if you have problems with products, here in Wisc. we have a great WDATCP - Wisc. Dep't. of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection and they will work with and for you, FREE (they don't make many of them anymore) to reconcile differences/problems with products and services and from first hand experience it works. Search your for yours under State of _____. Good luck and I hope your days good better.

Hi Al,

Ya and I even forgot to include my puter problems. Last Friday my on board video card took a dump. That's a Intel CPU and MB in just over a year. I sure got a lemon there but the first one in about 10 units so I'm not complaining to hard. It was just my turn in the barrel.

Thanks for the IH parts website. It looks like I best stick too a 340 until I can find out if the whole unit could be replaced, like the bull drive with another model.
The Pippin back hoe is a full frame attachment so it'll be awhile before I dig in to it. I bought a IH 706D and will just find a loader for it and use it. I'm also looking for a skidsteer.

BTW, I'm in Arizona or the frying pan...LOL
