Hello everyone. I have a 1952 Farmall H with the X1E option. IE low speed gears with 5000ft elevation engine. What makes it low speed? Is it all gears or just the lower ones? I have looked at parts books and all it shows is one transmission gear set, then the low-low speed. Can anyone shed some light on this for me with tooth count? or part numbers? Thanks for any help.

Have gear count wrote down somewhere but no time to look up this morning. If you look at the transmission counter shaft for the low low the first speed driving gear will be made on counter shaft,(shaft and gear one piece) compared to pressed and keyed on regular first. Since first and second drive gear are one piece in regular tractor, second in low low is a seperate gear but same ratio. First and reverse sliding gear is bigger so the teeth it engages on reverse idler has to be changed. (whole idler is changed) This ends up making reverse slower also. 3&4 drive gear is changed a little also because of spacing, gear ratio the same unless high speed 4th transmission. couple of other parts used with some set ups also.

Actually the CaseIH website does not list it, not that I can find. It just has the regular speed gears and the low-low set, not just the low speed gears.

I have 17 teeth wrote down for the counter shaft for the low drive gear and 53 teeth for first speed driven gear. Also called first and reverse sliding gear.

Don't know the number or tooth count. 1st gear is the only one that will be different. All others are the same as any other H. Someone will know the number and count.
